India Post GDS 2026 Photo & Signature Size
Below are the exact sizes from the official India Post GDS notice for every file you upload, a quote from the notice and a free tool that makes each file in the right pixels and KB.
The portal checks that your face covers at least 70% of the photo.
India Post GDS upload requirements
| File | Size (pixels) | File size | Format | Background |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Photo Face ≥ 70% of the photo | 320 × 400 px | 30–100 KB | JPG | Light |
| Signature | 300 × 120 px | 20–50 KB | JPG | White |
The notice does not say whether 1 KB is 1000 or 1024 bytes, so our files fit both ways of counting.

- Your face should fill about 70–80% of the photo, with no shadows or red-eye. Do not upload a selfie or a scanned photo.
- Blurred photos are rejected. Check the preview in the form after uploading.

- Sign on white paper with a black or blue pen. Typed or digital text is not accepted as a signature.
