Photo size 3.5 × 4.5 cm in pixels

Short answer: 3.5 cm × 4.5 cm is 413 × 531 pixels at 300 DPI and 276 × 354 pixels at 200 DPI. It is the usual passport photo shape (35 × 45 mm).

CTET asks for a 3.5 × 4.5 cm photo of 10–100 KB. The tool below makes a JPG in this shape, writes the DPI into the file and keeps it inside the KB range you set (20–50 KB by default).

Pixels = centimetres ÷ 2.54 × DPI. The highlighted row is the size selected in the tool. Files made from a size with DPI also store that DPI, so they print at the same size in centimetres.

Questions

How do I convert 3.5 × 4.5 cm to pixels?

Divide by 2.54 and multiply by the DPI: 3.5 ÷ 2.54 × 300 = 413 px and 4.5 ÷ 2.54 × 300 = 531 px. At 200 DPI it is 276 × 354 px.

Is 3.5 × 4.5 cm the same as 35 × 45 mm?

Yes. 1 cm is 10 mm, so 3.5 × 4.5 cm and 35 × 45 mm are the same passport photo size.

How many KB should a 3.5 × 4.5 cm photo be?

The notice decides, not the size in cm. CTET: 10–100 KB, Bihar Police: 15–25 KB, IBPS: 20–50 KB. Type your range in the KB fields.

Which DPI should I choose?

If your notice gives pixels, type them under Custom size. If it gives only centimetres, both rows measure 3.5 × 4.5 cm: 300 DPI is sharper, 200 DPI is smaller and fits tight KB limits more easily.

Do I need a white background?

Many forms ask for a light or white background, so take the photo in daylight in front of a plain light wall. The tool crops and resizes the photo; it does not replace the background.

Do you keep my photo or signature?

No. The picture is processed in memory to make the file and deleted right away. We never save it.
