Signature size 6 cm × 2 cm in pixels
Short answer: 6 cm × 2 cm is 709 × 236 pixels at 300 DPI and 472 × 157 pixels at 200 DPI. SSC asks for a signature of about 6.0 × 2.0 cm and 10–20 KB, and its GD notice states 300 DPI — so for SSC use 709 × 236 px.
The tool below makes the JPG in that size and also writes the DPI into the file, so it measures 6 × 2 cm when printed.

6 × 2 cm in pixels at different DPI
| DPI | Size (pixels) |
|---|---|
| 100 | 236 × 79 px |
| 150 | 354 × 118 px |
| 200 | 472 × 157 px |
| 300 | 709 × 236 px |
Pixels = centimetres ÷ 2.54 × DPI. The highlighted row is the size selected in the tool. Files made from a size with DPI also store that DPI, so they print at the same size in centimetres.
Signature size in official notices
| Exam | Size (pixels) | File size |
|---|---|---|
| SSC CGL | 709 × 236 px | 10–20 KB |
| SSC GD | 709 × 236 px | 10–20 KB |
| Bihar Police Constable | 472 × 157 px | 15–25 KB |
Requirements can change with every new notice. Always compare with the official notification before you upload.
Questions
How do I convert 6 cm × 2 cm to pixels?
Divide the centimetres by 2.54 to get inches and multiply by the DPI. At 300 DPI: 6 ÷ 2.54 × 300 = 709 px and 2 ÷ 2.54 × 300 = 236 px. At 200 DPI it is 472 × 157 px.
Which DPI should I use?
The one your notice gives: SSC gives 300 DPI, so 709 × 236 px. If a notice gives only centimetres, both sizes measure 6 × 2 cm: 300 DPI is sharper, 200 DPI makes a smaller file.
Does the file have to be exactly 6 × 2 cm?
SSC says “about” 6.0 cm × 2.0 cm. A digital image has pixels; its size in centimetres depends on the DPI stored in the file. Files from this page store the DPI you chose, so they measure 6 × 2 cm.
How many KB should a 6 × 2 cm signature be?
As many as your notice says — the size in cm does not decide the KB. SSC asks for 10–20 KB, which is the default here; change the KB fields for other forms.
Do you keep my photo or signature?
No. The picture is processed in memory to make the file and deleted right away. We never save it.
